FL0404W21 is a 80mic white PE film on a 60gsm white glassine liner, built for flexographic presses, in roll form. This page gives you the construction as we actually coat it, where it belongs, and what to pick instead when it does not.

PE is a polyethylene film, softer and more conformable than PET or BOPP. That conformability is the whole point: it wraps squeezable bottles and curved surfaces without lifting at the edges, and it moves with the container instead of fighting it.
Underneath it sits hot-melt adhesive. The liner is a glassine — a supercalendered paper with a dense, closed surface. Glassine releases cleanly at high converting speeds, it is the cheapest liner that does the job, and it is the default for roll-fed work.
This construction sits in the Flexo family, which we build for flexographic presses, in roll form. The family grouping is not marketing shorthand — it is how the topcoat is chosen.

Hot-melt is the workhorse system for long runs: it wets out fast, runs at line speed and holds on the substrates that dominate volume labelling. This is the construction to quote when the job is cost-sensitive and the environment is ordinary.
Rough, slightly porous surfaces need an adhesive that flows into the profile instead of sitting on top of it. Hot-melt does that without a special primer.
Batch codes, ingredient panels, logistics barcodes — the everyday labels that carry no unusual environmental demand and simply have to be reliable and cheap.
Sustained heat and high humidity are the conditions where hot-melt systems need an evaluation before you commit a full run.
Surface contamination blocks wet-out. Wipe-down or a high-tack variant is the fix, not a thicker coat.
PE film is soft and conformable, which suits squeezable containers, but it moves more than PET under tension. Confirm the die-cutting and dispensing set-up.
The Self Adhesive PE Film series holds 4 constructions in our catalogue. They share the same facestock family, so the differences that matter are adhesive system and liner — and those two decide which jobs each code wins.

Buyers often ask the reverse question: the construction works, but the press changes. These are the codes in other families built on the same facestock type.
