What this construction is

BOPP is a biaxially oriented polypropylene film. Orienting it in both directions is what gives the film its stiffness and its dimensional stability, so a thin BOPP label still lies flat on the pack and still feeds reliably at line speed. It is waterproof, it does not tear the way paper does, and it accepts a topcoat that lets UV and water-based inks key to the surface instead of sitting on it.

Underneath it sits water-based acrylic adhesive. The liner is a paper grade, specified for release and for runnability rather than for printability. The exact grade is on the data sheet.

This construction sits in the Laserjet family, which we build for laser and LED sheet printers. The family grouping is not marketing shorthand — it is how the topcoat is chosen.

Where it earns its place

General-purpose paper and film labels

A water-based acrylic system is the default when the job does not call for anything exotic: it prints well, converts cleanly and keeps the odour profile low compared with solvent systems.

Work with a lower-odour requirement

Where the printed label sits close to the consumer, or the converter runs a tight plant with limited extraction, a water-based adhesive is usually the easier conversation with the customer.

Mixed paper and film programmes

One adhesive system across a paper and a film facestock keeps a multi-SKU programme simple to specify, stock and convert.

When to choose something else

Immersion and wash-off

Prolonged water contact sits outside the design envelope of a standard water-based acrylic.

Very oily substrates

Oil on the surface prevents the adhesive from wetting out; test before running production.

Press set-up for non-absorbent stock

BOPP does not absorb ink the way paper does. The press needs its tension, heat and ink settings confirmed for film before the first production run.

How LJ0301W21 sits inside the Pearl White PP series

The Pearl White PP series holds 1 constructions in our catalogue. They share the same facestock family, so the differences that matter are adhesive system and liner — and those two decide which jobs each code wins.

Buyers often ask the reverse question: the construction works, but the press changes. These are the codes in other families built on the same facestock type.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Answered from the construction data, not from a brochure.

What exactly is LJ0301W21?
LJ0301W21 is a BOPP film facestock — 75mic Pearl white BOPP film — coated with water-based acrylic adhesive and supplied on 135gsm white liner. It belongs to the Laserjet family, which we build for laser and LED sheet printers.
Which printing process should I run it on?
The Laserjet family is specified for laser and LED sheet printers. If your press is not on that list, send us the model and we will tell you honestly whether this construction is the right one or whether another family fits better.
What is the minimum order and the lead time?
One thousand square metres is the standard minimum for a stock construction, in jumbo roll, slit roll or sheet form depending on the family. Stock items normally ship 15 to 25 days after order confirmation. A4 samples are free — you cover the courier only.
Can I get the technical data sheet before I commit?
Yes. The TDS for LJ0301W21 lists the measured values for the actual production lot, and we send it with the samples. We deliberately do not print performance figures on the website: the number that matters is the one measured on the material you will receive, not a catalogue average.
